Abstract
The Community Service Program conducted by students of Universitas Negeri Tidar in Mendut Village, Magelang, aims to improve waste management through community empowerment. This program involves education and training for residents, from household waste sorting to the establishment of community waste banks. The empowerment method applied includes an educational approach and strengthening of local organizational structures. Activities conducted include waste sorting socialization at elementary schools, provision of supplementary feeding for stunting prevention, optimization of waste banks, and early childhood education teaching with a waste theme. In addition, students also participated in the Mendut Night Carnival by using waste materials to create dresses. This program successfully increased public awareness of better and more sustainable waste management, as well as strengthened cooperation between residents and local institutions. The results show that the community empowerment approach is effective in creating a clean, healthy, and self-sufficient environment.
