Abstract

This research aims to determine the role of the Mimika Regency Pig Breeding Community Consumer Cooperative on the welfare of its members and the factors inhibiting cooperatives in improving members' welfare. This research is descriptive research with data collection techniques using observation, interviews and document checklist techniques. The data analysis instrument used in this research is Triangulation. The research results show that the Mimika Regency Pig Breeders Community Consumer Cooperative plays a fairly good role in improving the welfare of its members. These roles are: subsidizing livestock feed and vitamins, providing livestock seeds at relatively cheap prices compared to market prices, as well as establishing partnerships with government institutions to support operations and providing slaughter depots in the market as well as providing training to members on how to raise livestock properly.
